About me 🍇

I’m Pauline, a UX designer combining storytelling mastery with agile design to create user-centric solutions that drive measurable business success and genuine customer delight.

I’ve led end-to-end design initiatives, guiding projects through every stage of the design thinking process—from user research and journey mapping to prototyping and usability testing. I work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including developers and product managers, to align user needs with business goals and bring ideas to life. Before transitioning to UX, I spent 10 years solving creative and technical challenges in the film industry as a cinematographer, where I sharpened my visual literacy, problem-solving skills, and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams. Honestly, I’m still amazed at how similar these two disciplines are in so many ways.

In film, storyboards visualize a character’s journey, test ideas early, and align everyone on a shared vision. In UX design, user flows, and journey maps serve the same purpose—mapping and refining the user experience step by step.

About me 🍇

Hi, I am Pauline Gefin, a product designer who blends storytelling with strategy to create clear, intuitive, and human-centered digital experiences. At the heart of my work is a simple goal. I help teams turn complex ideas into meaningful products that meet real user needs and drive business value.

My design process begins long before I open Figma. I start on paper, clarifying goals, shaping requirements, and aligning with product partners so the problem is fully understood. That early clarity allows me to map the logic, structure, and flow of an experience before refining any visuals.

My approach is rooted in cognitive psychology. Whether I am sketching a low-fidelity layout or polishing an interface, I am thinking about how people perceive information, where their attention goes, and how they make decisions. I design to reduce cognitive load and guide focus so users can move through a product with ease.

One of my favorite parts of product development is testing. I see testing as discovery, not validation. It challenges my assumptions, reveals what actually works and helps me see the product through the user's perspective. Few things are more rewarding than watching someone complete a flow smoothly and knowing the design is doing its job.

I am at my best in collaborative environments. I care deeply about creating spaces where designers, developers, researchers and clients feel comfortable sharing ideas and asking questions. Good design is always a team effort, and I value thoughtful communication, curiosity and kindness in every project I work on.

Before transitioning into product design, I spent ten years as a cinematographer. That experience taught me how to guide attention, build a journey and master pacing. The same skills that shape a compelling visual story now help me create clear user flows, strong hierarchy and thoughtful interaction patterns.

Today, I focus on designing psychology-informed web products that feel effortless to use and purposeful to build. If you would like to connect, collaborate, or learn more about my work, feel free to reach out.
